Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) is an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. The first Broadway parts included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors in theatre and on television. she continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over an Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
