Born Kellie Dawn Pickler on June 28 1986 Pickler experienced a turbulent childhood. As a toddler she left her mother's unfaithful relationship. Her mother returned in 1995 back to her home and was given complete custody. However, it wasn't as was planned. Pickler returned to her parents when she was 12. Her grandparents brought the girl into adulthood. With the loss of their parents Pickler was too busy caring for her kids. She admitted she no longer had time to study and started learning how to be a homemaker from a very young age. Pickler was a member of the teams that cheered for both her middle-school and high-school. North Stanly High School, where she was a graduate in 2004, was her alma mater.
